Basic Requirements

Complete a Class Registration Form (downloadable below).

If not a current member, complete and sign the Membership and Waiver (downloadable below).

Make payment by cheque or money order made out to "VBDS". 

 

How to Register

You may mail your completed Registration Form with payment to: VBDS Registrar, PO Box 35024, RPO Hillside, Victoria BC  V8T 5G2.  This is the preferred method.

You may drop off your registration at any Wednesday Practice from 7:45 to 9:00 PM at Cedar Hill Recreation Centre.

You may come to the Wednesday (Cedar Hill Rec Centre, 7:45 to 9:00 PM) or Friday (Saanich Silver Threads, 7:00 to 8:15 PM) registration night, held just before classes begin each term. Keep in mind that, on occassion, a class may be full by that time.

For Newcomer I only, registration is also held at the beginning of the first class.

Cheque is the preferred method of payment but we will accept cash.  We are now equipped for debit and credit cards as well.

Membership Fee

If you are not already a member of VBDS you need to pay a membership fee along with the class cost.  You also need to complete and sign the waiver.  As of January 2009 membership fees increased to $48 per year.  Membership fees are prorated monthly.

Some Policies

Partners are not required but not guaranteed.  Ladies are strongly advised to come with a partner for the fullest enjoyment of classes. 

All syllabus classes except Newcomer I have pre-requisites.  Permission from the class instructor after assessment is also acceptable.

Fees are neither refundable nor transferable.  Class fees are not prorated.

Full-time students (with current student cards) and persons on disability assistance get half price on the class fees.

Simultaneous Classes Discount – For syllabus classes, VBDS provides a 50% discount for the second (or more) class taken in the same term in the same stream.  All beginning syllabus classes are in the same stream, but at the Pre-Bronze level and above, Standard and Latin are two separate streams.  This discount does not apply to mini-classes or out-of-syllabus classes such as West Coast Swing or Argentine Tango.

Do not attend a class until you have registered for it; instructors are not obligated to accept payments or registration forms.
